Steve Hollinghurst

Steve is Evangelism Enabler with an Environmental Focus for Lichfield Diocese working on evangelism and environmentalism, and spirituality in nature as part of mission. He has a background in social science and theology, particularly looking at culture and spirituality in today’s world as well as many years working and teaching in mission and evangelism and is one of the founders of the Forest Church Movement. He also researches digital mission and has recently contributed to Missio Dei in a Digital Age (SCM 2020). His other publications include Mission-Shaped Evangelism (Canterbury Press 2010), New Age Paganism and Christian Mission, (Grove 2003), and Starting, Assessing and Sustaining Pioneer Mission (Grove 2013)

Mones Farah was born in the north of Israel and grew up in Nazareth, living in Jerusalem while studying chemistry at the Hebrew University, then coming to the UK at the age of 19 to study Veterinary science. However, coming to faith at Brecon Cathedral renewal event, he was called to ordained ministry and sponsored by the Bishop of St David’s for ordination, attending Trinity College Bristol from 1985-1988. After ordination his first curacy was in Aberystwyth, then Chaplain to University of Wales Lampeter, followed by 16 years as a team vicar in the rectoral benefice working on Meadgate estate, then back to St David’s as Rector of Aberystwyth, from there he was appointed Archdeacon for New Christian Communities and Evangelism in 2018.  Mones leads a team of 11, with responsibility to plant churches among the unchurched in three different mission centres in partnership with the Church Army. 20% of their time is dedicated to assist in Evangelism across the whole diocese. More recently he has been a transition minister in the LMA of Bro Amman a team of 11 churches and as of July I will be the only stipendiary minister assisted by one NSML (newly ordained) and one retired cleric.
